A staple of first aid wound care. Sterile gauze pads can be used for general-purpose bandaging and wound cleaning.

Gauze pads are:

• Sterile
• Absorbent
• Flexible
• Breathable

Directions for use as a wound dressing:

• Use a sterile pad large enough to cover the wound fully
• Unfold the pad once, if necessary, to aid in dressing large or irregularly shaped wounds
• Tape the pad firmly to hold in place, or use a compression bandage

Gauze pads help to control bleeding and prevent further contamination of wound.
